PROF. E. ARZU KANIK (SAFE USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH PLANNING AND BIOSTATISTICAL ANALYSIS: E-PICOS AI APPLICATIONS)
This course will address the safe and methodologically correct use of AI-assisted approaches in the planning and analysis stages, which are the most critical phases of the scientific research process.
The opportunities and risks offered by the use of AI in fundamental steps such as structuring the research question,
determining the appropriate study design,
sample size planning, and selecting the correct statistical test will be discussed.
The necessity of verifiable and controllable systems will be emphasized, particularly to prevent “hallucinations,” incorrect model recommendations, and methodological deviations.
In applications to be carried out using E-PICOS AI software, the research planning and analysis process will be exemplified end-to-end with an AI-assisted system that guides the user and prevents errors. By progressing through real data scenarios, the aim is to strengthen participants' decision-making skills.
Participants will receive free access to the full version of E-PICOS software for one month during and after the course.
